My Make-Up of the Royal Winter Fair
Gaming, how badly does it affect our kids lives?
In this article i will discuss gaming and the affect it has on kids long and short-term. Some may say, "gaming is bad" or "gaming kills brain cells", well studies show that gaming increases reactivity but decreases time spent on school studies. I completely agree with the above statement, i do believe gaming takes up a lot of modern day kids lives. In fact, almost everyone i know either has an Xbox 360 or a Playstation 3 or some sort of gaming console. This is solely based on the fact that this is the norm. In today's world it is considered almost insane to not have some sort of gaming console anywhere in the household. Even some adults i've met throughout my life play Xbox or PS3. Me for example, i play Xbox 360 almost everyday of the week along with most teenage boys, i wouldn't clasify it an addiction, but more of a time filler. You see when the average teenager gets bored, they immediately turn to technology like its going to provide with some sort of prolonged activity to engage themselves in without actually having to move. In most cases this is true, my whole family has an iPhone 4 or higher and even at dinner nowadays my sisters will always end up pulling it out to check their messages or send a tweet or make a Facebook status. In my opinion gaming greatly affects the life of a teenager, especially one who doesn't know when to stop gaming, this can result in severe drop in grades or worse, flunking out of school and doing nothing with your life. Only 0.1% of people who drop out of highschool or university or college actually end up making an over average salary in their lifetime. This ends up being a huge burden on their parents as they are going to need to be financially supported throughout their whole lives or most of it anyway. So, for conclusion, yes gaming does have its negatives and its positives on a child's life. But now and then a little gaming could do everyone some good as it relieves stress and desensitize's the hectic lifestyle the world we kid's and even adults live in today.
